SimplySign and proCertum SmartSign - together or separately? How do they work and what are they used for?

What is SimplySign?

SimplySign is a qualified electronic signature, which is used by a mobile application of the same name (for Android and iOS) that allows you to make a qualified electronic signature without the need for a cryptographic card and reader. It is independent of a computer. The private key is stored in the cloud, and the signature operation is confirmed in the mobile app with a PIN. In short: instead of a physical token - you have a phone.

What is the SimplySign application used for?

  • Signing documents only in PDF format up to 20 MB
  • Mobile signature access (with internet connection requirement)
  • Collaboration with desktop applications (proCertum SmartSign, Adobe Acrobat)

What is the proCertum SmartSign program?

proCertum SmartSign is a desktop application (for Windows and macOS), also from Asseco/Certum, that enables the signing and verification of electronic signatures. It supports PAdES, XAdES and CAdES formats, adds timestamps, and checks signatures of other users. You could say: a universal tool.

What is proCertum SmartSign used for?

  • Signature files up to 50 MB (PDF, XML, DOC, etc.).
  • Select signature format and type (internal/external)
  • Verification of signatures, including with a qualified seal
  • Integration with SimplySign - for cloud signature

Do SimplySign and proCertum SmartSign have to work together?

They don't have to, but they often work together - and very effectively. Each application has its own use, but in duo they complement each other perfectly.

SimplySign without proCertum SmartSign?

Yes, but only for signing PDFs (up to 20 MB). The mobile app does not verify signatures.

proCertum SmartSign without SimplySign?

Yes, but only to verify signatures. It needs a connection to a certificate stored in the cloud to make a signature, and this is possible after using a token generated in the SimplySign mobile app....

Both at the same time?

The perfect combination. proCertum SmartSign Prepares the file and orders the signature, SimplySign mobile approves the operation from the phone.
