In the digital age, more and more services are moving to the Internet. One element of this transformation is e-Deliveries, the electronic equivalent of traditional registered official correspondence, between companies or individuals. But does every citizen need to have an e-Delivery box?
Obligation or convenience?
For the time being (October 2024), the use of an e-Delivery box is not mandatory for all citizens. However, certain groups are already required to have one, and this obligation will expand in the future.
- Entrepreneurs: Newly registered companies from January 1, 2025 will be required to have an e-Delivery box. For companies already registered with the National Court Register, the obligation will come into effect on April 1, 2025, while for entrepreneurs registered with CEiDG it will not come into effect until October 1, 2026.
- Public entities: Public offices and institutions are required to use e-Guarantees starting January 1, 2025.
- Public trust professions: E-Delivery boxes will also be mandatory for certain professions, such as lawyers, notaries and bailiffs from January 1, 2025
- Individuals: Citizens are not required to have an e-Delivery box.
Benefits of e-Delivery box
Even if you are not yet required to have an e-Delivery box, it is worth considering setting one up because of a number of benefits:
- Time saving: You no longer have to wait for the letter carrier or stand in lines at the post office. You receive your documents immediately, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Security: E-Delivery is encrypted and secured, minimizing the risk of lost or stolen documents.
- Ecology: Giving up paper correspondence is an environmental benefit.
- Convenience: You can access your documents from anywhere with internet access.
Although not every company is required to have an e-Delivery box for the time being, it is certainly worth setting one up. It is a convenient, secure and environmentally friendly solution that facilitates contact with the public administration and other institutions, as well as with companies. In the future, with the development of e-government, the e-Delivery box will become a standard for all citizens.
Do you already have your e-Delivery box? If not, it's high time to set one up!
